so when will we know if we were cast?
As was mentioned at auditions casting will be done by Wednesday and will be posted at the Arts Area Office. Phone is 484-8433. You will be notified by phone if you are cast. Thanks, Bob
will we be singing songs from the movie? or original songs?
…The musical director will announce that at auditions. Know that you’ll probably sing the oompa-loompa song
There are no scripts available at ARC (we’ve checked twice). Does anyone have a script they would be willing to email me? Krysta.Murphy@SanJuan.edu… Or do children need scripts for auditions? We are willing to drive to Old Fair Oaks, ARC, etc. to get access to a script (if needed). Thanks Bob for answering all of Taylor’s questions, she is really excited:)
Krysta
P.S. Can’t wait to see you all again!
My stepson is very intetested in auditioning, however we just stummbled apon the information and he was unable to get a script to rehearse. Is it possible to use a piece from one of his high school performances for his audition piece?
No prep is necessary. Be ready to learn a bit of a song, a dance combination and read from the script. You will have time at auditions to study a scene before reading.
will all of the children auditioning be cast as oompa loompas? or will they get the chance to be the main 5 children?
Children and adults will be read for the main 5 kids as well as the parents. They will also be considered for oompa-loompas.
Are the auditions at The Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheatre
7991 California Avenue in Fair Oaks Village?
Yes.
How often/long are rehearsals? Are costumes provided or do they need to be purchased?
Final rehearsal schedule will be ready when casting is done. Usually, though: Monday thru Friday 7p to 10p (later during tech week). Some Saturdays between 10a and 3p. These are staggered music rehearsals which last between 45 mins to 11/2 hrs. These will be scheduled once we have cast. Costumes are provided. All who are cast must register for ARC Theatre Arts Class: fee is paid by the Festival.
Grade school and high school participants must get a clearance from their principle or counselor to perform.
I would like to know is there certain registration you go through to audition because I’m new
No. Just show up. If you are cast you must register for a class, but the fee is paid by the festival. See you at auditions. Thanks, Bob Irvin
I want to audition but have class Monday. How will the auditions go?
There are also auditions Sunday at 2pm. Monday night we will probably run to 10p – 11p depending on the turnout.
My daughter is turning 7 on May 6, can she still audition? Ford
How old do the children need to be to audition? Do they have to have previous experience? What is cost?
Childre should be 7 or older. No previous experience needed. No cost. If cast they will be enrolled for college credit. The fee is paid for by the Festival. Thanks
how much does it cost?
Are there children’s roles in this play?
How will I get the script? Say I’m going to be Violet Beauregard and I wanted to practice before auditions. Where would I get the script?
Scripts will be available for overnight checkout starting April 9th in the Arts Area Office (484-8433) on the American River College campus
